This is my launch into the world of blogging. I do this because I recognize the need for more awareness of international affairs and ways in which we, Americans, can address them.
For over 30 years I have been a visual journalist. Since the mid 90s, I have been engaged in what today is referred to as “Backpack Journalism,” or “Backpack Documentary,” loosely defined as the production of television or web content by a single practitioner using a hand-held digital video camera. In an era of drastic cutbacks of resources and commitment by mainstream media to provide Americans with the information we need to make intelligent decisions about our lives and the life of our nation, the “backpack” model increasingly is filling the void.
My intention with this blog is to help define and promote that model.
