ACCRA, Ghana, 24 November 2015 — This is my friend, Kumah Drah, who first contacted me nearly two years ago about conducting a workshop in Ghana. On this, the second day of our five-day workshop, I accompanied Kumah, a long-time environmentalist, to shoot his story about a carpenter who rescues abandoned or used wood and turns it into furniture, household items, etc. He’s calling his story, “Trash to Treasure.” Though he’s been a journalist for many years, Kumah had yet to delve into the world of video. It was such an exhilarating pleasure to watch this very good man enjoy the practice of our craft, to watch this new world open up to him. Thank you, Kumah Drah, for a great experience.
