Interview on Backpack Journalism for Mass Media Book

I did a long video interview yesterday with Dr. Charles Sterin of the University of Maryland University College. He’s putting together a new book, “Mass Media for the Digital Millenium,” which will be hard copy and online. The book will be published by Pearson Education, Inc., reportedly the largest publisher in the world of books for educational use.

Sterin also is the president of Media & Image Consulting Services Inc. – MICSI. We talked about backpack journalism, its definition, why it has become so popular, how it is filling the void left by conventional media outlets, who can do it and who can’t, and why.

A pretty interesting discussion that reinforces my contention that this new genre of visual communication is such a vital and compelling component of our craft.
