WASHINGTON, 3 June 2010 — SOC graduate student Maria Howell began her internship with the Associated Press (AP) by arriving in Jerusalem the very night of the Israeli assault on the flotilla of ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. It promises to be a very busy summer.
Maria is this year’s recipient of the Associated Press/American University Backpack Journalism Foreign Internship. She started blogging shortly after arrival. We plan to follow Maria throughout her internship in Israel. You can also follow her on her blog.
