VALENCIA, Venezuela, 7 October 2009 — I address students, faculty and local journalists at the Arturo Michelena University in Valencia, Venezuela. The main theme is investigative journalism in difficult situations. During a presentation of my still photojournalism as well as documentary work, I discuss backpack journalism as part of the future.
Myself and colleague Ana Arana were invited by the U.S. State Department to Venezuela to address university students in Maracaibo, Valencia and Caracas, as well as to interview with numerous media outlets in that South American nation.
