WASHINGTON, DC, 2 November 2016 — Registration is open for my Backpack Video Workshop in Washington, DC, on Thursday 8 December through Sunday 11 December 2016. Click HERE for more information and steps to register.
In a four-day intensive workshop you learn the full range of skills required for effective visual storytelling—from story idea development and pitching to shooting, producing, scriptwriting, narrating and editing the final product. You also learn to market your work, using the latest and most effective social media tools.
I have conducted these workshops from Nicaragua to Ghana, from San Salvador to Bangkok, from Washington, DC, to Havana, Cuba, where they all have been highly acclaimed as effective in teaching the visual storytelling language.
Space is limited so act now and register while seats are available. And contact me with questions.
These Video Workshops are for beginners with some experience as well as more seasoned practitioners who want to sharpen their skills and acquire new ones. We welcome photojournalists making the transition to film and video. Print journalists seeking to expand their skills will find the workshops particularly useful. Broadcast journalists accustomed to the technology and techniques preceding today’s hand-held digital cameras will find that the newer equipment delivers a more immediate, intimate version of visual communication than their predecessors. Video journalists, documentarians, filmmakers and independent storytellers who want to expand their skill set and learn from one of the pioneers in the field also will benefit from the Workshops. You must be at least 18 years old to attend.
Please contact me with questions.
